Royal White Redbud The Royal White Redbud is also a more compact tree than the Eastern Redbud. Thousands of white flowers appear in the spring before leaves appear. Red Bud trees have a yellow fall color. Does well in many soil types, except permanently wet soils. It has low water requirements and displays a high tolerance to salt and alkali soils. It has large heart shaped leaves during the summer, and long seedpods in the fall. The Royal White Redbud, 'Cercis canadensis "Royal White", demostrates the most appealing feature of the redbud species with the showy, large white flowers in early spring.
Arborvitae American The American Arborvitae, Thuja occidentalis, is a conifer evergreen tree that is widely used as an accent tree or as a privacy hedge tree. American Arborvitae trees have a broad pyramidal shape with erect branches that are dense and crowded together. The scale-like leaves are abruply pointed. This evergreen tree prefers a deep well drained site. When established it can stand considerable heat and drought. It is one of the most popular of all trees for windbreaks and year around privacy screening.
Canadian Hemlock It has a graceful pyramidal form with foliage of spray-like appearance. They stand shearing and pruning well and are excellent as hedges. They are graceful and make great ornamental plantings. This stately tree is a very hardy specimen and is an easily transplanted conifer which grows well in a variety of soils. The Canadian Hemlock tree, Tsuga canadensis, is also called Eastern Hemlock or Hemlock spruce.
Concolor Fir This evergreen conifer tree is native to the mountainous regions of the western United States. Concolor Fir trees are large, densely-growing, narrow trees with a dome-shaped crown growing to 50 feet or more. It is a rapid grower after it becomes established. It makes a handsome ornamental and decorative Christmas tree. Although it can exist on poor, dry sites, the white fir grows most vigorously in moist, well-drained, acid soils in protected locations.
Russian Olive Highly aromatic, creamy yellow flowers appear in June and July and are later replaced by clusters of abundant silvery fruits. Prized for its silvery gray foliage. The Russian Olive has low water requirements and displays a high tolerance for salt and alkali. Its stems, buds, and leaves have a dense covering of silvery to rusty scales. The Russian Olive tree, Elaeagnus Angustifolia, is an excellent windbreak and wildlife tree.
Southern Red Oak Songbirds, turkey, a variety of small mammals and deer eat the nuts. They are 1/2 to 3/4 inch long, roughly spherical and orange-brown. The Southern Red Oak tree, Quercus falcata, is characterized by its rough bark. The wood of the Southern Red Oak is strong and coarse-grained. It is a tree of the Old South, ranging from Maryland to Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
Eastern White Pine This evergreen conifer tree is a truly magnificent tree attaining a height of 80 feet at maturity with a diameter of two to three feet. It carries long, soft bluish green needles with large brown cones. Also widely used for Christmas trees and timber.
Norway Spruce seedling. The dense, dark green needles never get longer than 1". This evergreen conifer tree thrives well in average soil conditions, but prefers moisture in the soil to maintain its deep green color.
Black Hills Spruce Black Hills Spruce trees are very dense and have a deep dark green color. This tree is commonly used for windbreaks, privacy screens and accent plantings. It will reach a height of six feet in nine years on a good site.
Eastern Red Cedar Typically, the trunk is straight and the tree has a pointed, dense, conical crown that may be varied or irregular, depending on ecotype or competing vegetation. It is the primary species in most windbreaks. The wood of the Red Cedar is fragrant and is used extensively for furniture.
Loblolly Pine It is particularly prized for its straight trunk, which contains no knots for up to 30 feet.
Mugho Pine Thanks to its low growth, mugho pine can be used at the front of a border or anywhere you want year-round greenery in conifer form.
Austrian Pine in height in 6-7 years starting with a 2 year old seedling.
Scotch Pine It is a fast growing, irregularly shaped tree.
